Ever wondered how an illustrator gets to work for NASA?

We have! So in our legacy series we did some digging and found the very talented Rick Guidice.

Being a NASA Illustrator falls into that category of things that are listed as jobs you feel like you’d never obtain. Like being a caretaker on a luxury island or video game tester. However, believe it or not, they exist!

Meet the the work of incredibly talented NASA illustrator Rick Guidice.

Born and raised in San Jose, California he now lives in Los Gatos, Ca.

Rick started work as an artist at the age of 16, doing architectural illustrations in an architectural firm. He received a scholarship and attended the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.

At 25, Rick started freelancing as an advertising and editorial illustrator. While still staying involved in architectural illustration and design. His work caught the attention of NASA and a 15 year relationship began where Rick produced many full color paintings of various space missions.

His work has been seen all over the world in print and in traveling shows. Many of the paintings are on permanent display at NASA Ames Research Center, California and The Smithsonian, Washington DC.

Not only a NASA Illustrator but a Designer for Billionaires…

Rick’s interest in architecture and his conceptual abilities. Have led him into building design and he is principal of his own design firm. He has designed homes for many of Silicon Valley’s leaders.

So there you have it! A few examples of Rick’s NASA illustration work are below.
