The Crazy Animal Face Illustration Block Party is an event created out of the desire to fill a room with people who want to develop, and meet other people who feel the same.
In 2018, the events were focussed on specifically the illustration community. By showcasing thought leaders in the illustration field and speaking to them about their experiences.
On the 6th of October Dan Woodger, Ben Newman, and Mutant Hands. Travelled up to Manchester to spend a good chunk of time with 30 people looking to fuel their creative passions.
The format of the day starts in the early afternoon and is held at Hatch Manchester. With live Q&As kicking the day off that last 45-60 minutes, and relaxed discussions around key topics that affect anyone wanting to build and grow their Creative Passion.
In the late afternoon there is the chance to book a 1-2-1 session with the talent being showcased at the Block Party. Giving attendees the chance to really drill down on specific topics, like how to build a portfolio, how to make the jump into freelance, how to avoid procrastination and much, much more.
Additionally, with Hatch hosting a range of street food stalls and a micro brewery on site, everyone gets well fed and watered.
Talent wise, the events is a fantastic way to meet and get a personal insight with not only highly talented Illustrators. But also, your peers who are keen to make connections with attendees as well.
The Block Party is not a lecture, but an open discussion that is designed to be relaxed, screenless and honest. The intention is to leave inspired and better connected to a community.

The majority of people who attended in the Block Party have had their expectations of the event over exceeded, found the day informative and most of all, fun.
